First Intercontinental Meeting for Humanity and Against Neoliberalism
Miedo yo siento, miedo yo sufro

Mother, take them away. Leave me in the soil. Give me back my dead
<<Fragment of the Zapatista National Liberation Army (EZLN) General Command’s speech given by Subcomandante Marcos in the opening of the “First Intercontinental Meeting for Humanity and Against Neoliberalism”, ceremony.>>
I get up at night, my forehead sweating
Watch out, for the eagle comes black*
Watch out, for the andean condor** shows us its paws
Watch out, that a snake goes down through some mountains of María***
Fear, I feel. Fear, I suffer
I get up at night and my forehead does not forget
That their troops were coming then.
They came to write our last hours
The last days and nights, we were running away.
Never forget that these hands are roots,
That sink into the ground,
And go to your streets, your homes and your neighborhoods,
To burn churches and banks,
To consume the cities and their companies
Our bodies are doors that are closed,
for you not to enter nor come back.
The predators carrying on their shoulders the stolen lives
Care, that trembles. Fear suffocates. My tears fall
However i believe that they, my tears, are a thousand of rivers
I believe that the watered blood already made an ocean
And you, I do not believe in your smile anymore, you have mocked already.

*. Black Eagles or “Águilas Negras”, are a criminal band born from the vestiges of the extinct extreme right armed force known as United Self-defenses of Colombia or Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC), which were funded by politicians and rich farmers, and trained by retired commanders of Colombian Army, public force and some british and Israeli mercenaries, to stop the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia or “FARC”, the oldest guerrilla of Colombia, but they ended up massacring entire towns with the excuse that those people were supporters of the FARC. Because of the AUC, there is still a lot of people displaced and missing.
**. Traditional bird species in our country
***. It is a region gravely affected by the armed conflict that has beaten Colombia for more than half a century
